The Crafts Council of Ireland announced the winners of over 20 grants and awards at a ceremony held at the National Museum, Collins Barracks earlier today. These included the Crafts Council of Ireland’s Future Makers awards and grants 2010, the Irish Arts Review / Crafts Council of Ireland Emerging Maker Award and the House and Home / Crafts Council of Ireland Student Design Award.

TWICE THE CHARM FOR BUTTON & CO: DRAGON’S DEN JEWELLER TAKES HONOURS AT SHOWCASE

Ireland’s most talented designers and craftspeople gathered in the RDS today to witness jeweler Elaine-Sarah Comerford of Button & Co. – who achieved recognition on Dragon’s Den last year - scoop the overall prize for Best New Product at Showcase as well as Best New Product in the Jewellery section for her Button Charm Bracelet. The two-tone silver and gold bracelet depicting old-fashioned buttons was lauded for its quality, design and innovation.
